Yes, that’s right; an all-you-can-eat (download) plan from T-Mobile for a once-a-year fee. For £179.99 you get a BlackBerry pearl 8110 handset and one year’s worth of data and e-mail. There is apparently a 1-Gigabyte cap on the data per month, however T-Mobile claims you won’t be charged for going over this limit. At the end of your one year of unlimited BlackBerry data, you are able to renew the service again (at a currently undetermined price). If you want to be able to use the phone feature, text (SMS) and picture messaging you will be charged on a pay-as-you-go basis with T-Mobile’s Talk and Text tariff. The most exciting aspect of this announcement from T-Mobile’s perspective is probably that you can now buy someone a blackberry with service as a gift. This could get very popular, VERY fast. The unlimited plan will be available as of May 1st 2009.
